<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This polygon feature class represents drainage districts, which are administrative divisions that collect property taxes to pay for the maintenance of storm drainage systems within its boundaries. Drainage districts differ from watershed districts in that they cover areas protected by man-made levees. The polygons in this feature class are updated annually through a four-step workflow. 1. The county Budget Office provides GIS with an Excel list of the drainage district assigned to each county tax unit (as applicable). That list is joined to the parcel feature class, keeping only parcels that are assigned to tax units with drainage districts assigned. 2. The parcels are dissolved together by drainage district using the ArcGIS dissolve geoprocessing tool. 3. The dissolved parcels are generalized (one at a time via selection) using the ArcGIS Aggregate Polygons tool with a tolerance of 1000 ft. Any remaining donut holes in the polygons are manually removed by deleting vertices. 4. Boundaries between drainage districts are manually adjusted to align to road centerlines or shared property boundaries as appropriate.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Attributes include:</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>OBJECTID: System-generated unique identifier within this feature class.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>DISTRICTNAME: Common name for the drainage district.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>RESOLUTION: Unique identifier for the legal document that created the district.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>SHAPE: System-generated description of the type of geometric object stored in this feature class.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>GlobalID: System-generated unique identifier required for replicating data among database replicas.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>created_user: GIS staff member who created the original polygon.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>created_date: Date of creation for the original polygon.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>last_edited_user: GIS staff member who most recently edited the polygon's geometry and/or its attributes.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>last_edited_date: Date of most recent edits to the polygon's geometry and/or its attributes.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>MILLLEVY: The millage rate assigned to the district for the current tax year.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>MILLLEVYYEAR: The tax year associated with the value in the mill levy field.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>SHAPE.STArea(): System-generated calculation of the polygon's area, measured in square feet.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>SHAPE.STLength(): System-generated calculation of the polygon's perimeter, measured in feet.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
